Favorites

I have a lot of "favorites." I guess that statement seems contradictory, but there are different things I love.  Some of my favorite "favorites" are books so I'll start there! :)

I love to read, and always have. Ever since I was young, I have been a fast reader. (I was one of those kids that could zip through a book - or two - a day. As a result, I have read a lot of books! But not all of those deserve "favorite" status.
1. The Bible. Hands down, the best book - helpful, encouraging, motivating, convicting and alive! (I reviewed an awesome audio Bible a while back!)
Well, after that it's hard to number anymore. How do you pick a second favorite? So I'll just list other favorites:
Starting with the classics:
  • Little Women
  • The Little House series (I'm not sure if they're technically "classics," but they are for me!)
  • Pride and Prejudice

Then the not quite so old books:
  • Seasons of the Heart series by Janette Oke (I've reread this series so many times, I've really lost count - usually books 1, 3 and 4 - I generally only skim the second one.) :)
  • The Lauren Holbrook Series by Erynn Mangum (a new author, you will probably find her in the youth fiction section of your local Christian bookstore) Such fun stories and what a great message!
I also LOVE good movies!! I have several that I love watching and rewatching. They are timeless (and clean - which is VERY important to me).
  • Miracle Worker - The newer Disney version is wonderful! Anne Sullivan was a wonderful teacher. I love how she didn't give up on Helen and she expected great things of her.
  • Anne of Green Gables (the first two!)
  • Miss Potter
  • North and South
This page is a work in progress, so check back. :)
