Around the house...

Today was a beautiful sunny day and I spent most of it at home! :) I enjoy having those days in which I don't have to go anywhere. As I was watering my rose bush, I came across this:

Isn't that such an intricate web? I guess it's a regular garden spider, but I've never seen a web like this one. I don't mind spiders in general, as long as they are not too large and NOT in my house! :) (and not poisonous)

As for the bush, no blooms yet this year. I don't think it really likes its location. However, it has sent up a couple of new sprouts from the base. Maybe I should relocate it. Probably in a temporary pot until it is happy again. The clay that it is in is very hard - probably discourages blossoming.

Anyway... the tour moves on! :) My family gave us this pot of periwinkles for our anniversary. I just love getting plants! I hope they stay as happy and perky as they are right now!

Speaking of happy flowers, these guys make me happy! :) My favorite colors!

I have four of these lantana plants, I can't wait until they are taller than the monkey grass and you can actually see them from the road! :)

And lastly, my front porch. There are more flowers than you can see easily, they are small. I have several pink trailing verbena plants as well, again, hidden by the monkey grass.

I hope you enjoyed my little tour and the initial picture didn't scare you too badly! :) I hope every one is having a wonderful week and first few days of June! This year is just flying by! I can't believe it is almost halfway over. Stay tuned for a fun tutorial later this week. :)

Sunday Blessing

And can I yet delay
My little all to give?
To tear my soul from earth away
For Jesus to receive?

Nay, but I yield, I yield;
I can hold out no more;
I sink, by dying love compelled,
And own Thee Conqueror.

Though late, I all forsake;
My friends, my all, resign;
Gracious Redeemer, take, O take,
And seal me ever Thine!

Come, and possess me whole,
Nor hence again remove;
Settle and fix my wavering soul
With all Thy weight of love.

And Can I Yet Delay?

by Charles Wesley

I hope that everyone is having a blessed Sunday. I like the words to this song. I know it is another by Charles Wesley, like last week. I hope you enjoy it!

New Look!

I have been wanting to do a more updated look for my blog for a while. I was ready for something a little lighter and more "summer-y!" :) So what do you think? It is a little simpler than my previous layout, but it will be faster to load.

I used the blogger template "Minima." You can get that little header border off by using Tori's tip, click here. Thanks, Tori for the info! :)

The picture is of one of the little plates that hangs in my kitchen. It is one in a set of four... I love them! :)

Tip Junkie

I have enjoyed this blog. She features great ideas from other people and posts the links to her blog. Each day the post is a set of links with similar purposes. Today's post featured several ideas for Father's Day. Yesterday's post was about blog ettiquette.

Melissa featured a similar blog yesterday called Today's Creative Blog.

There are a lot of really neat blogs out there. Maybe you have a favorite I don't know about? :)

Where we've been!

I guess some of you were wondering where I was all last week. (Some of you didn't even notice I was gone, but oh well.) :) Mark and I were on vacation! We went up to the Beavers Bend Park in Oklahoma. We rented a great little cabin and just spent a few days relaxing!

We went up on Monday. We enjoyed the drive up (although I didn't enjoy the narrow two lane road with the logging trucks crossing the yellow line!) We stopped in several county seats to take pictures of the courthouses. We would eventually like to get pictures of every courthouse in Texas.
Tuesday we took a canoe ride down the river. It was very enjoyable and so relaxing to be out on the water. Beaver's Bend isn't a high traffic resort area and we went before it got really busy. It was nice and quiet. We grilled hamburgers when we got back to the cabin and ate them on the front porch in the rocking chairs.
Wednesday we cleaned up the cabin and checked out. We stopped by a few more courthouses on the way down and spent that night at Mark's parents home.
Thursday we left after a wonderful breakfast and did a little more looking and shopping before coming home. We really enjoyed our trip! Click the album below to see pictures:

Vacation
Also Happy third Anniversary to us today! :) I can't believe it's been three years already! I have such a wonderful husband! I love you, Mark!!!!
